Education
Our commitment to education extends to all levels in the organisation.
ABET and learnerships
Due to South Africa’s past, education is a challenge to many people. To overcome this we have committed to an Adult Based Education Training (ABET) since 2000, and the results speaks themselves refer to graph below.
Focus has shifted to raising all our employees’ skills base through extensive use of learnerships (formal education programmes certified by SAQA) and apprenticeships .
Leadership college
Eveready sees the importance of ensuring that junior and middle management develop personal mastery in the various areas of leadership.
A leadership college is presented on a two year cycle, where 20 upcoming leaders in the organisation study all aspects of business. Run in conjunction with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), Business School but also presented by senior executives of Eveready.
Our Managing Director also presents a three-day program on leadership.
Employee education
All Eveready employees are encouraged to study further in their field or a field related to the business. This is fully subsidised by the company.
Extensive in-house training
The company culture drives personal mastery as a goal for every employee. The implementation of the culture is supported by an extensive in-house training program presented by the HR team. Our unique lean training development process ensures quick, high- quality, low cost turnaround.
For each position specialised skills are needed. During our performance management process, each employee skill needs are identified and become part of the training plan.
