• A photograph of the Project Team and the teacher together with their invention.
• A completed entry form.  Please download extras as required.
• A document, complete with diagrams and photographs that describe how the invention works.
• An A1 poster summarizing the project.
• Names of participating learners and teachers.
• A contact name and telephone number (office hours).

Judging Criteria

• Originality of project
• Scientific principles 
  •  Which principle/s used and why
• Construction 
  • Simple or complex
  • What material were used and why
  •  Original ideas or outside assistance
  •  Does the device work
• Utility value
  • Does the device have a practical application in the outside world?
• Overall impression of the project

The above criteria are weighed equally at 20 points each. Total score out of 100.

Rules

1. The competition is run by Eveready (the 'Organisers').
2.  The competition is open to all learners attending primary school (Creators Award) and high school (Inventors Award) in South Africa. 
3.  Each entry must be submitted by the Project Team comprising any number of learners and at least one supervising teacher.
4. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted. 
5. Entries must be submitted to LMP, Box 5029, Rivonia, 2128 in time to reach us before 12 noon on 15 June 2006. Late arrivals will not be considered under any circumstances.
6. The judges decision is will be absolutely final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. The 10 finalists (5 from each category), determined by postal entries, will be contacted by Eveready, who will arrange for the devices to be collected.
8. The winning entries and working device will become the property of Eveready.
9.  Ownership rights and copyrights of the devices will remain the sole property of Eveready.
10.  If your entry is chosen as one of the 10 finalists do you give permission to be identified and photographed for publicity purposes?

11. By entering the contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules.
