Previously there was only one competition but we’ve now split it into two categories to make it fairer - Young Inventors for high school learners, and Young Creators for primary school learners.

What you have to do:

You have to design and build a device, preferably one that has a practical or commercial use. There’s only ONE restriction to your creativity – it has to be powered by an Eveready battery(or batteries). It can be any size or as many as you need just as long as it works!

We’re going to be highlighting the competition on Frenzy so make sure you’re watching Craze on eTV on Tuesdays at 15:30.

Make sure you don’t miss the show on Tuesday, 18 July as we’ll be announcing the top 5 finalists in each category.

We’ll announce the winners on Tuesday, 22 August 2006 – it could be you!

Entries must reach us by noon on 15 June 2006 at address PO Box 5029, Rivonia, 2128.

The Reward?

Prizes will be awarded to the winning learners and their schools, shared 50/50, as follows:

The top 5 projects in each category, as selected by the judges will be awarded:

A school certificate
An Eveready gift pack
R500 for the school
R500 to be shared among the learners on the project team

From these finalists, the judging panel will then be select the top 3 winners from each category who will be awarded as follows:

1^st – R10 000 distributed between the school and the learners involved.

2^nd – R5 000 distributed between the school and the learners involved.

3^rd – R2 500 distributed between the school and the learners involved.
