Eveready Reflecting on the Best of 2018

Date : 12 December 2018

2018 is drawing to a close and, amidst the flurry of festive season activities, we’re taking a moment to reflect on this year’s highlights. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding year for our team who brought a number of exciting new company developments to fruition. Without further ado, here are our best moments of 2018!

New House of York Products

Our talented team spent months designing and manufacturing a range of new House of York products to meet a variety of everyday household needs. With much excitement, we were finally able to reveal what we’d been working on in June this year. The dynamic new range features three styles of blackwood cutting boards, a multifunctional tray caddy, convenient bread bin with board and handy chalk board with hooks - all of which are available to order online: https://bit.ly/2EZIh9U.

New Factory Shop

This October saw the exciting opening of our brand-new factory shop in collaboration with Ready Fresh, a local supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables. Customers can now stock up on delicious fresh produce while they shop for their favourite Eveready and House of York products. In Port Elizabeth? Pop in to see and shop what’s on offer! The shop is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4pm at #3 Eveready Road, Struandale.

New Eveready Lighting Website

Since last year we have been working on updating our websites to make them even more modern and user-friendly. Towards the end of 2017 we successfully launched our new www.eveready.co.za and www.batteries.co.za sites and, in May this year, we launched our new lighting.eveready.co.za site. It has a whole new look and feel and features stunning imagery taken at a recent corporate photoshoot with PE-based international photographer, David Dettmann.

Team Work

Staff from different divisions within Eveready all pulled together to take part in the ultimate annual team-building challenge - the Nelson Mandela Bay Train Race. Two teams of six took part in this year’s race which was held in August. Of the 91 participating corporate teams, our teams held their own to place in 7th and 54th position respectively. It was incredible to watch them take turns in racing 37km against a train and their display of dedication and camaraderie made us truly proud.

Employee Development

Employee development is core to our company values which is why, throughout the course of this year, our employees attended various learnerships and workshops such as the Variable Speed Drives (VSD) practical workshop and an NQF Level 3 Learnership in General Management – both of which helped equip our staff members with the essential knowledge and skills needed to master their area of expertise.

20 000 Facebook Fans

Eveready is passionate about communicating with our customers through social media channels, so we were thrilled to reach a significant milestone on our Facebook page in August this year – 20 000 page likes! If you’re already one of our Facebook fans, we’d just like to say thank you for all your ongoing support to our brand, both on- and off-line. Not yet a fan? Follow our Facebook page for interesting content and regular competitions where you can win fantastic prizes.

Above all else, we are happy and grateful to have spent another year providing our customers with top quality products as a positively South African company. From all of us at Eveready, we wish you a memorable festive season and remarkable new year!
