Eveready's Management System

Eveready was certified for the first time in 1999 against ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. During our recertification year, 2002 we were also certified against the OHSAS 18001 specification.

Certification runs through a 3 year cycle, 2 consecutive year surveillance and then the 3^rd year re-certification. Eveready has successfully been re-certified for 3 cycles.

Due to the maturity of our three systems, Eveready decided in 2004 to integrate the three systems into one Integrated Management System (IMS).

In 2005 we were successfully re-certified against an integrated management system. Eveready is one of the few companies in South Africa that can boast about an Integrated Management System.

Integration of our systems resulted in simplification of work methods and also removal of duplication. Every individual knows what is expected of them w.r.t quality, environment, health & safety. Information regarding Quality, Environmental, Health & safety surveys and inspections are visually available to all employees.

We are very proud of our Integrated Management system, and it has allowed us to grow strength by strength in all the markets we have entered.

FSC – CoC Certification for House of York

House of York division of Eveready Pty Ltd achieved a land mark in its environmental performance recently when it received the Chain of Custody (CoC) certificate from the renowned certification agency SGS – Qualifor for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards as per FSC-STD-40-004. The certificate was issued on 21^st April 2009 and is valid for a period of 5 years.

Forest Stewardship Council is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of world’s forests. FSC provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry.
